What we cover
Swansea Reviews publishes local reviews, business guides, restaurant recommendations, attractions and things to do. We use a local place or institution when it helps readers understand the subject, compare options or find the right area — not simply to add place names to a page.
Getting the geography and culture right
We distinguish Swansea City Centre from neighbourhoods such as Uplands and Morriston, from coastal communities such as Mumbles, and from rural Gower settlements such as Rhossili and Llangennith. Swansea means the City and County of Swansea where that wider local-authority geography is intended. Neighbouring local-authority areas are not automatically Swansea locations.
Swansea Bay is a broad coastal setting, not the name of one beach. We identify specific places — such as Swansea Beach, Langland Bay, Caswell Bay, Three Cliffs Bay or Rhossili Bay — when giving local context. Coastal access, tides, weather, water conditions and path routes can change, so practical advice should be checked against current official information.
Welsh language and place names are part of Swansea’s local context. We aim to preserve Welsh spelling and use established names accurately, including Abertawe and Penrhyn Gŵyr where relevant. We do not invent translations or assume that every community or school operates primarily in Welsh.
Sources and changing details
We aim to use reliable sources close to the subject, such as Swansea Council, the relevant business, venue, event organiser, transport operator or public service. Business details, opening hours, menus, prices, event dates, timetables and access arrangements can change. When a current detail cannot be confirmed, we may omit it or direct readers to check with the provider.
We treat statistics as dated and tied to their stated geography. A figure for the City and County of Swansea is not automatically a figure for the city centre, Mumbles or Gower. Historical facts and claims about Swansea’s industrial past, including the copper industry and “Copperopolis,” should be used in their historical context rather than as descriptions of the present-day economy.
Independence and commercial relationships
Swansea Reviews is an independent local information and recommendations site. A review or listing is not automatically paid for or endorsed. If a page is sponsored or contains another commercial relationship, we will identify that relationship clearly. Commercial arrangements do not in themselves determine our editorial view.
Corrections and updates
If you spot an error, email [email protected] with the page address, the detail in question and, if possible, a reliable source. We review correction requests and update material errors where appropriate. Minor edits may be made without a separate note; for a substantial correction, we may add an editorial note to the page.
A request from a business or individual does not automatically require us to remove content. We consider accuracy, relevance, privacy, safety and the public interest. We do not publish private personal information or unverified allegations about individuals.
Scope and limitations
Our guides are selective, not a complete directory of every Swansea business, service, attraction or event. Inclusion does not guarantee quality or availability, and absence does not imply criticism. Please confirm important details with the organisation concerned.
